It is known that CBD is a potent inhibitor of cytochrome P450 isoenzymes. The CYP 450 enzyme system works to metabolize prescription drugs and eliminate toxins from the body. Since CBD alters CYP 450 isoenzymes, it may inhibit our ability to metabolize certain drugs, causing them to stay in our body longer.
